Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law.
• Scan an ID without a legitimate business reason or without any consent required by law.
• Attempt to access, tamper with, or reverse-engineer the Service, its infrastructure, or its data sources.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute scan results or access to the Service without our written permission.
• Circumvent scan limits, geofencing, or free-trial restrictions.
• Use the Service to harass, discriminate against, or unlawfully profile any individual.

4. The Service and Results

ID Oracle is a fake-ID detection and identity screening aid. It extracts information from scanned documents and compares it against public records and, where available, state motor vehicle (DMV) records. Results are provided for informational and screening purposes only and do not constitute a definitive determination that any document is genuine or fraudulent, or that any person is who they claim to be.

You are solely responsible for any decision made based on the results of a scan, including whether to accept, reject, or further verify an ID. We are not responsible for any action or inaction you take in reliance on the Service.

5. DMV / State Motor Vehicle Verification

Where DMV verification is offered, it is performed by a third-party provider that queries the relevant state DMV on our behalf. Availability and accuracy depend on the issuing state and its current system status, which may change without notice. Some states require the ID holder's consent before a DMV record check; you are responsible for obtaining that consent where required by law.

6. Plans, Billing, and Scan Limits

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment provider until you cancel. Scan limits are determined by your active plan and any additional licenses you purchase. Unused scans do not roll over. You can view, upgrade, or cancel your plan at any time from the Settings page; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds, if any, are issued at our sole discretion in accordance with applicable law and our refund policy.

7. Teams and Multi-Location Access

Business and team plans allow you to invite staff to run scans under your account. As the account owner, you are responsible for the actions of your staff members and for ensuring they use the Service in compliance with these Terms and applicable law. Staff access may be limited by geofencing, trusted WiFi, and other controls you configure.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal and identity data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary information except as necessary to use the Service as intended.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or our users. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you end immediately.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
